Graphic & Communication Design Residential Learning Community
From CEOs to churches, from charities to chambers of commerce, from car washes to corporations, everyone has something to say or something to sell. In a world where the consumer is bombarded with messages, the ability to persuade is a very powerful communications tool. The graphic and communication design program at La Roche College will provide you with the skills you need to be an effective print and multi-media communicator. You’ll master the computer software that professional graphic designers use. Most importantly, you will become a visual problem-solver and learn to use words, pictures and images to create a compelling message that will sizzle.
The La Roche Approach
For you to obtain an edge before you graduate, you need practical experience in real-world design and communication settings. You will have that opportunity at La Roche College.
Our unique curriculum prepares you to handle deadlines, work as a team member and manage a project from start to finish. During the graphic and communication design department’s annual Immersion Days, teams of students have 48 hours to design and present an entire communications plan for an actual organization. Immersion Days prepares you to work closely with other individuals to come up with solutions to
communication problems, just as employees do in design and advertising firms. In the past, Immersion Days clients have included Best Buddies, North Hills Community Outreach and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Representatives from the year’s participating organization help judge the student work and have even incorporated student-produced pieces into their campaigns. Want to spend time with professional graphic designers? You’ll have that chance through our internship program. Our students have interned with numerous organizations, including FSC Marketing Communications, Jack Horner Communications Inc., Infinity Broadcasting, John Brady Design Consultants and American Eagle Outfitters.
Faculty Focus

Morrow and Company.
