Academic Advising begins at the time of depositing and continues until the day you graduate. Ultimately we aim to help you take charge of your future and successfully complete your academic journey. We assist you in developing academic and future career goals, discovering the right major, navigating college policies and procedures, utilizing the resources needed for a successful college experience, and achieving the goal of graduation.
Academic Advising provides:
- Schedules for all new first-time, full-time freshmen
- Advising to new students during add/drop period their first semester
- Advising to Undeclared students (students without a declared major)
- Assistance to students who are considering changing a major, adding a second major, or adding a minor
Once a student declares a major, a faculty advisor is assigned to that student. The office also provides support and training for all faculty advisors to ensure that all students, regardless of major, have access to a quality academic advising relationship.
