Have you recently traveled to an affected area?
Following the advice of the U.S. State Department and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), La Roche has placed the following destinations on the restricted list for University-affiliated international travel for students, faculty and staff:
- Most European Countries
- United Kingdom and Ireland
We all play a part in proactively reducing the spread of COVID-19 while protecting the health and safety of our community. Therefore, at this time, the University also encourages all students and employees to refrain from traveling outside of Western Pennsylvania, as the number of reported cases across the country and globe changes on a daily basis.
The University is requiring anyone returning from a country on the CDC Level 3 travel warning list to self-isolate for 14 days upon their return to the United States and before coming to campus. If you visit another country that becomes a level 3 or higher while you are there, you will be required to self-isolate for 14 days prior to returning to campus. Individuals, including resident students, must return to their homes or similarly suitable locations as a protective measure for themselves and others.
Self-isolation means you should avoid contact with other people. You should not attend class, worksites, laboratories, study groups, or events and activities on- or off-campus until the 14-day period following departure from an affected area has ended and you are symptom-free. If you begin to experience physical symptoms during your self-isolation, you should seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure and may include fever, cough and shortness of breath.
For those not able to self-isolate at home, please contact the Residence Life office at 412-536-1195 and they may be able to assist you with living arrangements off campus.
