Adjunct Faculty - Organizational Communication


The Communication, Media and Technology Department of La Roche University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Adjunct Professor - Organizational Communication for the Fall 2024 semester.

This position provides an overview of the interaction of structure, culture, technology, and communication in organizations. Classes will focus on case studies of the structures and culture of new technology organizations and the dynamic encountered when new technology meets old economy culture. Within the course, the student will also practice specific communication skills such as preparation for job interviews, performance appraisals, professional presentations, and negotiation.

This undergraduate course meets twice a week in-person on La Roche University’s campus in the North Hills neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Excellent communication, technological, and organizational skills needed.
  • Ability to teach, interact, and evaluate students who come from diverse backgrounds and levels of ability.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Follow established teaching procedures and protocols within the Academic Affairs Division.

Education/Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Communication, Media Studies, or related field.
  • Prior college/university level teaching experience preferred.
  • Professional experience is preferred.

These are considered adjunct (part-time) faculty positions. Adjunct faculty are hired for specific teaching assignments and contracts are distributed on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of future contracts. Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States.  LRU will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
