La Roche University is currently seeking candidates for the position of Adjunct Professor – Physics, to teach applicable courses to undergraduate students.  This position will be scheduled to teach during the summer 2024 semester beginning May 28th. 

This undergraduate course meets in-person on La Roche University’s campus in the North Hills neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality instruction for new and continuing undergraduate students enrolled in Physics courses.
  • Teaching assignments include Lecture and utilization of other educational methods.
  • Provide instruction for approximately 15 weeks per Spring and Fall semesters.
  • Evaluate student progress through coursework, papers, exams, and related assignments; provide appropriate feedback.
  • Follow established teaching procedures and protocols within the Academic Affairs Division.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Physics preferred
  • Master's degree in Physics or related field required
  • Prior teaching experience at the college/university level preferred

Candidates must pass background clearances prior to the issuance of a contract. Review of applicants will begin immediately; position open until filled.

These are considered adjunct (part-time) faculty positions. Adjunct faculty are hired for specific teaching assignments and contracts are distributed on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of future contracts. Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States.  LRU will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
