Annual Golf Outing

A heartfelt thank you to our golfers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers for making the Scott Lang Memorial Classic on June 2, 2025, such a success. Thanks to your generous support, we raised over $46,000 to benefit La Roche’s Athletics programs.

The 100 golfers enjoyed a perfect sunny day on the beautiful and challenging Shannopin Country Club course, complete with exciting games along the way. Shannopin once again provided a stunning venue and great food, while the 29 silent auction packages sparked plenty of friendly bidding competition.

About the Scott Lang Memorial Golf Classic

Over the past two decades, proceeds from the event have enabled the University to upgrade facilities, add sports programs and purchase much-needed athletic equipment. Your support also has given our student athletes, both women and men, the opportunity to learn the value of teamwork, dedication and perseverance.

About Scott Lang

Coach Lang was an accomplished basketball coach for 18 years at the Div. III level and for 14 seasons at La Roche. He won more games (150) than any coach in the school’s history and led his team to its first AMCC championship in 2004. 

Coach Lang was an inspiring figure in the locker room, on the court and with his players. His familiar “Stay Blessed” greeting and extraordinary leadership will remain forever in the hearts of many. In 2011 and in celebration of his life, the golf outing was renamed the Scott Lang Memorial Classic.
