In commemoration of Oscar Wilde's 171st birthday, this lecture will honor the famous (and infamous) Victorian playwright and socialite. We'll cover the rise and fall of Wilde's life as well as discussing his plays and other writings. In addition, we'll look at his notoriety after death and the lasting impact he has had on art and culture.

Instructor
Theodore Lehre is an English Ph.D. candidate at Boston College, with a specialization in (and great passion for!) Irish literature and gender/sexuality studies. Originally from California, they earned their Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from UC Berkeley, where they began their Irish literary journey, and their Associate of Arts from Santa Rosa Junior College.
