Veronica Sardegna holds a Master of Arts in Teaching English as an International Language and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, along with two professional certifications: Advanced Study in Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education and the Master Online Teacher Certificate.

Before moving to the U.S., she earned an Advanced Bachelor’s degree(Licenciatura) in English Language and Literature from Universidad del MuseoSocial Argentino and spent a decade working as an English as a ForeignLanguage (EFL) teacher, high school principal, and college professor. In the U.S., she has dedicated over two decades to teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) courses and teacher education courses in Foreign Language and TESOL programs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Pittsburgh, and Duquesne University. She has also taught internationally in various MATESL programs and served as an English Language Specialist for the U.S. Department of State’s English Language Programs. In 2021, she received the Scott Enright Interest Section Service Award for outstanding leadership service in the International TESOL Association.

Veronica Sardegna brings to La Roche University three decades of academic, professional, research, and leadership experiences in ESL/EFL and TESOL. Her expertise and research interests include English pronunciation teaching, business and academic writing, intercultural learning, and instructional technology and artificial intelligence tools for language teaching and learning. She has published extensively and presented worldwide on these topics, with one of her works receiving an International Book Award and another an Outstanding Book Honorable Mention. Veronica Sardegna’s passion for teaching and leadership drives her to create meaningful learning experiences, foster career growth, and build a strong sense of community among students and educators in the ESL and Pathway programs.
