La Roche Recognized as Military Friendly

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 17, 2021 – La Roche University earned the 2021-22 Military Friendly® School designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM Jobs SM and Military Spouse.

The list of Military Friendly® Schools is provided to service members and their families each year, helping veterans select the best college, university or trade school to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career.

La Roche has been consecutively named a Military Friendly School since Victory Media’s publication of the list in 2009.

“La Roche University is proud to be a Military Friendly institution. We welcome all military students, veterans and their dependents to begin or complete their education at our campus in the North Hills of Pittsburgh,” Vice President for Enrollment Management Chip Weisgerber, Ph.D., said.
The University offers credit for military experience and an on-campus Veterans Organization for members to connect through shared experiences, provide mentorship and encourage camaraderie in an inclusive and supportive environment. Students also can learn how to best leverage their unique military skills and experiences through La Roche’s Office of Career Development.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey.

Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by Victory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students, and specifically for student veterans.
