Meet Design + Film at La Roche Scheduled for March 18

PITTSBURGH, March 10, 2021 – La Roche University invites high school students to explore the fields of film, graphic design and interior design during its virtual Meet Design + Film event on Thursday, March 18 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Hosted by the La Roche Design Division, the event is for students in grades nine through 12 who are interested in film, fine arts, photography, and graphic or interior design. Students will test their own creative skills by participating in a hands-on design project and submitting their work to La Roche faculty and current La Roche students by April 8. Students will have the opportunity on March 25 and April 1 to receive input on their projects from La Roche faculty and current La Roche students prior to final submission

Students must register online for the event by Tuesday, March 16 to receive the Zoom link for the main presentation.

Lisa Kamphaus, chair of the La Roche Design Division, said, “La Roche Design is excited to demonstrate how design can be impactful and make a difference. Meet Design + Film at La Roche is a unique opportunity for high school students to explore our film, graphic design and interior design programs while interacting with faculty members who are industry experts.”

Prizes for first place, second place and third place will be awarded from all projects submitted. Project winners will be announced as part of Positive Space, the Design Division’s annual juried art and design show on April 15.
