La Roche University and Messiah University Announce Articulation Agreement

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 6, 2022 – La Roche University and Messiah University recently entered an articulation agreement for a bachelor’s + 2 Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) enrollment partnership.

The program will allow La Roche students who complete a bachelor’s degree and maintain a 3.0 to move into Messiah’s MSAT program. Students may pursue any undergraduate degree as long as they successfully complete Messiah’s MSAT prerequisites.

Lauren Lanzino, D.C., chair of La Roche’s Health Science Department, said, “La Roche is excited to bring its students this articulation agreement with Messiah University’s Master of Science in Athletic Training program. This arrangement provides our students with a wonderful opportunity to reach their academic goals by attending graduate school and becoming a licensed healthcare professional in the field of sports medicine.”

The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education has mandated that an individual must have an MSAT from an accredited program to take the Board of Certification Examination, which is required to practice.

“La Roche’s Catholic heritage and its enduring commitment to co-creating a world of compassion, justice and peace make it a natural partner with Messiah University,” said Dr. Rob Pepper, associate provost for graduate and professional studies and university partnerships at Messiah. “This agreement establishes a formal pathway for La Roche undergraduate students who want to pursue athletic training at the graduate level at a nationally ranked, accredited private Christian university.”

La Roche is currently accepting students into the program. For more information, please email admissions@laroche.edu or call 412-536-1272. Transfer students should email transferadmissions@laroche.edu or call 412-536-1260.
