U.S. News & World Report Ranks La Roche University Among Best Colleges

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 12, 2022 – U.S. News & World Report has again ranked La Roche University a Best University in the North, a Top Performer on Social Mobility and a School with the Most International Students.

Now in its 38th year, the rankings evaluate more than 1,450 colleges and universities on up to 17 measures of academic quality.

“Our continued recognition as a Best Regional University demonstrates our commitment to our mission of preparing students for life and career success, and creating a community of scholars from the region, the nation and around the world,” said Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Howard J. Ishiyama, Ph.D.

La Roche ranks 22nd among 175 regional universities for Top Performers on Social Mobility. U.S. News & World Report determines social mobility by two factors. The first factor is a measurement of a university’s success at supporting low-income students to achieve equity with students from families with stronger financial backgrounds. Graduation rates of students who received federal Pell grants is another consideration.

Additionally La Roche ranks fifth for Regional Universities in the North with the Most International Students. The student body is 20 percent international, with 59 countries represented on campus.* La Roche accepts international students into both undergraduate and graduate programs, and into its ESL program for non-native English speakers.

U.S. News publishes the Best Colleges rankings each year to provide prospective students and their families with helpful data and information on factors such as graduation rates, social mobility and graduate indebtedness.

“For nearly 40 years, the Best Colleges methodology has continuously evolved to reflect changes in the higher education landscape and the interests of prospective students,” said Kim Castro, editor and chief content officer at U.S. News. “Guiding that evolution is U.S. News’ mission of providing useful data and information to help with one of life’s biggest decisions.”

Prospective students can see how La Roche compares to other institutions and how the rankings are calculated on USNews.com.

*Figures include students enrolled in La Roche’s ESL program.
