PITTSBURGH, July 30, 2025 —
La Roche University is pleased to announce the appointment of David Kang, Ph.D., as Vice President for Global Education, beginning September 1, 2025. Dr. Kang will lead a strategic restructuring that unifies International Student Services, International Admissions, and the Study Abroad + Study USA and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs under a single division to better serve the University’s expanding international community and enhance global engagement.

Dr. Kang brings over 20 years of leadership in international education and intercultural initiatives. Prior to joining La Roche, he served as Dean of Global Education at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he advanced global learning opportunities, forged impactful partnerships, and developed comprehensive support services for international students and faculty.

A native of South Korea, Dr. Kang earned his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and Master’s in Applied Linguistics from Indiana State University. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Kyungnam University in South Korea. His academic research focuses on intercultural communication, global citizenship, and inclusive education—areas that reflect his passion for creating welcoming, culturally rich learning environments.

“Global education is fundamental to preparing students for today’s interconnected world,” said Dr. Kang. “I am honored to join La Roche University at this pivotal moment and excited to work alongside faculty, staff, and students to foster a vibrant, inclusive international community that supports academic excellence and cross-cultural understanding.”
