La Roche Named Military Friendly College for 10th Consecutive Time

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 13, 2017 – La Roche University has earned the 2018 Military Friendly® School designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM Jobs SM and Military Spouse.

First published in 2009, Military Friendly® Schools is the most comprehensive, powerful resource for veterans today. Each year, the list of Military Friendly® Schools is provided to service members and their families, helping them select the best college, university, or trade school to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career.

“La Roche University is committed to providing a supportive environment for our military and veteran students so that they can achieve their educational goals,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Chip Weisgerber, Ph.D.

La Roche offers credit for military services and welcomes all veterans, military students and their dependents to begin or complete their education on campus or through online learning.

Military and veteran students also find support through the Veterans Organization. Established in 2013, the organization gives veterans the opportunity to meet each other, get involved on campus and receive support.

Victory Media measures public data, proprietary data and personal data from sources and surveys to determine Military Friendly® designations and awards. The data is then evaluated by the Victory Media’s Military Friendly® Advisory Council and inputted into a pre-determined algorithm.

Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
