PITTSBURGH, Oct. 17, 2018 – Special Agent David S. Foster of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will speak at La Roche University on Monday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.

“Special Agent Foster will explain why he made the fascinating career change from ordained minister to FBI agent,” William Crowley, J.D., assistant professor of the Justice, Law and Security Department, said. “He will discuss how the two professions are much more similar than they appear.”

The presentation will be held in the Kearns Spirituality Center on the Sisters of Divine Providence property adjacent to the La Roche campus:

Kearns Spirituality Center
A Ministry of the Sisters of Divine Providence
9000 Babcock Blvd.
Allison Park, PA 15101

Mr. Crowley said, “Special Agent Foster’s presentation will positively impact both our students and the entire La Roche community by exposing them to someone who went from one interesting career of service based on faith to another based on the rule of law.”

The lecture is free and pre-registration is required. Space is limited. Only those holding a registration email confirmation will be admitted.

In addition to being an investigator on the Joint Terrorism Task Force, Special Agent Foster’s current duties for the Pittsburgh office of the FBI include Crisis Negotiation Coordinator (CNC), Employee Assistance Peer (EAP) Coordinator and Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) Religion Outreach Coordinator.

The event is co-sponsored by the La Roche Criminal Justice Club and the Office of Alumni Relations.
