Simulation Coordinator - Nursing

The Nursing Department of La Roche University continues to enhance and expand health programs, and is seeking candidates for a part time Simulation Coordinator opportunity scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2023. The part time Simulation Coordinator will be based at La Roche’s main campus located in the North Hills neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

The University offers several educational programs including an online RN to Bachelor of Science (RN to BSN) with an optional online RN to Master of Science (RN to MSN) in Nursing, an online Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing program with specializations in Administration, Education, or Clinical Leadership, an Entry Level Master of Science (ELMSN) in Nursing curriculum—the first such program in Pennsylvania, and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) post-master's certificate program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Director of Simulation
  • Develops, implements, updates, and monitors simulation lab policies, procedures, use, and operation.
  • Monitors and schedules use, signing out, and movement of simulation lab equipment
  • Creates and maintains a respectful and professional working environment, incorporating active learning, reflective thinking, and a confidential debriefing process
  • Maintains lab inventory, ensures the safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Monitors and assures appropriate standards of lab cleanliness, provides for equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement
  • Oversees simulation lab information and technology support
  • Models professional standards, including customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, and attendance
  • Performs remediation with students in skills areas as needed and appropriate in conjunction with faculty
  • Works with Nursing faculty to appropriately integrate lab operations, obtain maximum utilization for the most efficient expenditure, and to moderate student costs


  • Current Pennsylvania RN license
  • Earned Master of Science in Nursing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
